I will never ever take any of my animals to this place. My poor 6 month old siberian husky puppy was so sick he couldn't even keep water down. It was clear that he was in a lot of pain. He was extremely shakey when he was walking or even just standing. He barely had any energy. His waste was very runny even. So I called riverbend to get him seen which was the only vet i had trusted. The front desk workers were friendly but i, and my daughters felt nothing but disrespect from the doctor he was seen by. We were never told he was going to have to stay the night or that they were watching him for parvo. So while my puppy was being seen, he of course was very scared and it was very noticeable he was in pain as well. But again the doctor's said they totally understood and did not hold it against him. The only feed back my daughters and i recieved was spiteful comments about his care because we did miss his second set if boosters by a couple of weeks due to financial issues and that he was keeping him for the night. As soon as we had to leave the room and leave our puppy with them, our puppy was even more scared. So my daughter offered to take him back to lessen the stress on the puppy. We were denied. Around 5pm that same day we had called to check on him just to be told that they have done nothing because he was not letting anyone near him. Again they said they uderstood and were just going to sadate him to get fluids in him and draw blood. Once again my daughter offered to come back to help ease her puppy. But like the last time she was denied. The next day we went out to riverbend to check on him and hopefully finally get answers. But all they told us was they got literally nothing and know nothing but to call back at 11 because they just opened. By this time we were all getting a little upset. Because they knew he was extremely dehydrated because he could not keep anything down, but the entire time he was there they literally did nothing for him. He was in pain but they gave him nothing. He didnt eat drink get pain meds or an IV. He got nothing to help him and niether did we. Around 9am that same day we get a call that we can pick him up. We get out there but once again they have no answers. They ran no tests no nothing. He diagnosed him with parvo and would not test him for anything else because he was sure that it was that. But he also said if it was parvo he would have died through the night, so when we dropped him off that could have been the last time we could have saw him but were unaware of that. All he gave us was three cans of dog food for his digestive system. Then we went ahead and set him up another appointment to get the last round of his boosters. They just told us to watch him and call if he acts like this again. So thats what we did. The next day he was acting very sick so we called. They told us they were refusing to see him and could not help us. But what about the appointment we had set up for his shots with them? We ended up having to take him to smileys and he is now a happy healthy puppy. I will never take my animals back to this place.

Excellent service, these people truly will go the extra mile to ensure you and your animals are taken care of.

The staff is friendly and truly cares about your pets!

We've been going to Dr. Root for years. He helped us out after Smylie animal clinic was terribly rude and blew us off and we've never looked back. Dr Root and staff are very kind and gentle with our cats and dogs and even helped us with a very serious situation where our pet had to be put down. Dr. Root and his staff are friendly, fair priced and really do have that small town friendly neighbor feel. I can tell they care about our pets as much as we do!
